Yes! Try this hot “chocolate”-y drink that’s 100% vegan (if you use agave or maple syrup) that uses carob powder instead of chocolate.
Not only does it get the health benefits of carob (this week’s food of the week!), it’s also perfect for anyone who is sensitive to chocolate or dairy products.
It’s comforting, warming, and delicious.
Better than Hot Cocoa
(Makes 1 serving)
1 cup (240 ml) creamy oat milk
1 Tbsp carob powder
1 Tbsp honey or maple or agave syrup
(optional) ½ tsp vanilla extract
Place all the ingredients in a small pan over medium heat. Whisk together well to get rid of any lumps and heat until it reaches your desired temperature.
Pour into a mug and enjoy!
